    great video! About some Facebook guys, I gave up. They never helps anyone. They're just here for ego. I don't like big pool Floyd too. I Just took my Charvel model one to a luthier to put in a Gotoh ( I don't like it too) but herein Brazil it's more cheap then OFR. Okay that's was installed without a pool. the work was 'meh'. I regret the neck needed to be shimmed , the springs where touching the body, the refret was not to good :( I needed to took to another luthier to do some adjustments at the shim (the action was about 2mm at the 12th fret- I don't like low action but that is stupidly high even with no intonation problems). Now It's about 1.8mm way more comfortable action. I remembered then about your advice: don't take your Floyd guitar to anyone who doesn't like Floyd Roses, hahaha . Better learn later than never. It's way hard to find someone fairly good these days. Oh God. BTW, thanks for your advices bro. wish you all the best. P.S. forgive my bad English. cheers

    Nice vid.. do you plan to BLOCK the trem on the backside?.. it does help with stability but the downside being NO PULL UPS.. most Professions are blocking to keep 100% tuning.. I recently picked up a Kramer Focus 2000 with locking nut and orignal Non fine tuner floyd from early 1983.. takes some time to tune it.. GOT to stretch the strings.. this vid is VERY helpful for those of us without drill presses etc.. nice job..

    • @Metalcop5150
      @Metalcop5150 2 дні тому

      All of my Gillis builds get the Floyd blocked for downwards travel only. This is how Brad's actual guitar is built, he just keeps his Floyd at a strong up angle, so that he can pull back. Honestly, that's not ideal, but it's what works for him!! It's hard enough to get a non fine-tuning Floyd in tune, without also then worrying about a Floating bridge. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    titanium i wouldn't say its brittle lol... whole reason on using titanium over steel is titanium is a lot closer to bass when it comes to frequency of sound over steel, true fact steel has a more brittle sound due to having a lot less bass response... i would say that fu tone is a complete ripp off for its cost when you can get the same thing off ebay for less than half... titanium also has a "spring like quality" a lot of people don't know about and just think its hard.

    • @Metalcop5150

      @@omegaman2183 The issue is really with thinking of the battery tender as a “Charger”. It’s really not. It does ‘trickle charge’ over time and then it MAINTAINS the battery, basically floating the determined level of charge. It’s my understanding that the AGM batteries require a different maintenance program than a lead acid battery. I’m not an engineer, so it’s really beyond my understanding. An alternator just flat out charges a battery at 14.4 bolts, like an old toaster style battery charger, that was supposed to charge the battery in 2 hours. Completely different technology from a trickle charger/ maintainer. Check the comments, I believe someone else explained it better.

My experience with them is that they are practically uncontrollable unless you are playing. It’s an on or off proposition. Tons of hard to control feedback, as I recall. Your mileage may vary, but me personally, I didn’t like the pickup. I can’t remember what Mike said about them (it was a long time ago) but I believe he had the same experience as me and didn’t really like the Invader. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🤘

    The sustain argument to me makes no sense if you are playing sustain really never comes in to the equation. The things you hear on internet forums is a bunch of hogwash.

    • @Metalcop5150
      @Metalcop5150 Місяць тому

      "If you are playing sustain really never comes in to the equation." Huh? That is a pretty blanked and untrue statement. As far as *if the overwrap increases sustain? I've never really done an A to B comparison. However, I'll defer to pro players like Duane Allman, Jimmy Page, Billy Gibbons, Zakk Wylde and Joe Bonamassa who all prefer their tailpiece cranked down to the body which necessitates the overwrap. I think they all get pretty decent (and varied) tones using that setup.

      @@ZacharyMoonshine Not too hard. The worst part is cutting up the neck for the Floyd locking clamp. That takes some fortitude and precision! Lol I mark the cut lines with blue tape and the cuts are well shallow. Then I sneak up to the level platform that I need w/ a wood file. That way you don’t have to ever use any shims.
